New in 2020!

Rutgers Community Arts

A Division of the prestigious Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers Community Arts is a brand new addition for summer 2020 and among their offerings will be premium high school and middle school dance programming along with an amazing drawing & painting camp. We’re also excited for their versatile “Kids Create!” program for young artists (rising kindergarten through 8th grade) looking to experience different mediums and activities. Welcome Rutgers Community Arts!

Visual Arts Center of NJ

After a successful 2019 as part of Big Blue Summer, the Visual Arts Center of NJ is back for a second summer, with new and improved programming for young artists in a variety of exciting disciplines including sculpture, assemblage, art journaling, illustration & character design, and drawing & painting. VACNJ is also offering themed art camps for rising 1st through 5th grade students.

Kicks and Sticks!

Do you love soccer AND lacrosse? This innovative new program for rising 3rd through 8th grade students features drills and instruction that will benefit players’ skills and knowledge in both sports. The camp is run by Pingry Physical Education Teacher, Julia Braun, who is also a professional womens lacrosse player for the Baltimore Ride!

Pingry Football Camp

Big Blue Summer’s first ever Football Camp is coming to Basking Ridge! Pingry Head Football Coach Chris Shilts and veteran youth football camp Director Carl Frye will be running this non-contact program to teach campers proper football fundamentals in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Pingry Football Camp runs during the week of July 13, so huddle up and see if your young athlete would enjoy a safe and super fun introduction to America’s most popular professional sport!

Pingry Performing Arts Camp

After a fantastic presentation of “Finding Nemo” in 2019, Pingry Drama Teacher Alan Van Antwerp’s Pingry Performing Arts Camp is adding another week of full day musical theater camp! We look forward to what Mr. Van Antwerp and his staff of theater professionals has in store for summer 2020!

Pingry Track and Field Camp

We’re thrilled that Pingry Track and Field Camp is making it’s Big Blue Summer debut in 2020! Pingry Track and Field Head Coach Chris Shilts and Assistant Coach Todd Joki will be introducing the sport to younger campers and sharpening the skills of other campers who may have some previous experience in Track and Field. This new camp will focus on hurdles (of all sizes for all campers!), relays, and jumps, with other special events added as time permits.

Zatna Hi-Tech

Our longstanding premium technology partner, Zatna, will be offering new technology camps for our budding coders, future engineers, and computer science whizzes! Along with full day advanced programming courses in Java, Python, and Robotics/TETRIX, some of the new half day PM offerings include Virtual Reality, Exploring the IOT (Internet of Things), Embroidery programming, and Art Tech: Eclectic Projects.

Physics of Everyday

This brand new summer academic course is designed for students in rising grades 3-5, and consists of a series of experiential learning workshops covering topics such as Newton’s laws of motion, gravity, forces, momentum, and energy. The course is taught in the context of sports, and every-day life phenomena.

BBS Girls Soccer Camp

Pingry Girls Soccer Assistant Coach Paul Sykes is directing this brand new camp for girls in rising grades 6 – 12 that will work on fundamentals, skill development, and tactics in a fun competitive environment!

College Essay Bootcamp

In this 3-day bootcamp, Upper School English Teacher Alisha Davlin, a former NYU undergraduate admissions reader, will guide you through the college essay writing process from brainstorming to final edits. Campers will learn what it takes to write a competitive college essay and how to avoid common pitfalls most applicants make.
