Leadership Openings

The leadership team is responsible for supervising junior staff, providing ongoing training and intervening when necessary. This team ensures that the goals of Big Blue Summer are central to all activities and interactions that campers experience while here with us. The leadership team also plans and manages activities and scheduling throughout the summer. These positions require excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Prior camp or teaching experience and experience managing others are highly valued.

We currently seek qualified staff with demonstrated leadership experience for the following positions:

Activities Supervisor/Assistant Director

Ensures that activities at camp are executed with excellence. Lead tambourine-shaker and camper-motivator. Good at adapting to circumstances, including unexpected weather. Organizes and leads all-camp and age-division-specific special activities. Supervises CITs, Interns, and Specialists.

Staff Supervisor/Assistant Director

Ensures that daily activities of camp are executed with excellence. Mentor to all mentors. Great at one-on-one problem solving with staff and campers. Responsible for ongoing training and oversight of group counselors and group activity curriculum with a focus on leadership and social skill development.

Assistant Aquatics Director (WSI certification required)

Assist the Aquatics Director managing the pool and swim staff, including scheduling lessons, assigning lesson groups, assisting swim instructors, and enforcing pool rules. This is a great position for an experienced and motivated swim instructor looking to build their resume.

Day Camp begins June 24 (June 17 for Minis) and continues through August 9. Camp staff hours are 8:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Leadership staff are expected to work the full summer. The Assistant Aquatics Director may work different hours, to be arranged with the Aquatics Director, as swim programs continue until 4:30pm and are offered beginning June 10.
