Nicol Champions Academy
The Nicol Champions Academy was founded 10 years ago by Peter Nicol (former Squash World #1), Jess Winstanley (Mental Conditioning & Fitness), and Melissa Winstanley & John Nimick (producers of Tournament of Champions, NetSuite Open). All shared the same goal of providing an outstanding learning experience for young squash players in a fun, caring environment. The Nicol Champions Academy runs capacity summer camps at Amherst College, year-round training at Poly Prep in Brooklyn, and the Nicol Squash Club in Rhode Island featuring outstanding professional players and coaches.
For the first time at The Pingry School, The Nicol Champions Academy is delighted to run a camp featuring Amanda Sobhy, the highest-ranked American squash player ever! The program is designed to challenge and teach junior players, with mornings devoted to technical on-court work and off-court conditioning, while afternoons center on match play and mental strategy. The squash program is designed to cover major areas of the game over a 1-week period. Each day has a different theme, and that theme is technically practiced, coached, applied in conditioned games, and then finally in match play.
This camp is open to players of all skill levels, in rising grade 6+.
