Learn and play the game of kings while simultaneously cultivating critical thinking and social development skills. Students will be exposed to all facets of the game including learning the rules, endgames, tactics, strategy, openings, review of master games, and chess history. Participants will also learn how to record chess notation, have opportunities to play fellow campers, and then analyze those games with a coach to identify errors and missed opportunities.
Each week of intermediate programming will have its own engaging theme and independent lesson plans.
State and national champions have come from our programs, but the majority of our students are casual players looking to learn and have fun.
