Echoing the Pingry philosophy of athletics, Big Blue Summer Sports Camps provide a competitive athletic environment while instilling the values of responsibility, integrity, self-discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Camps include offerings from some of our legendary coaches, including the Miller Bugliari’s ’52 Soccer Camp, and Pingry Lacrosse Camp coached by New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee and Head Coach of Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse, Mike Webster. Athletes who have committed to continuing their drive toward excellence and honor at the collegiate level can join our evening College Athlete Preparatory Course.

This one week lacrosse camp open for boys grades 6th - 8th is designed to provide players of various ability levels with the opportunity to reinforce important lacrosse skills and concepts. Players will have fun learning skills and competing in drills.

+ PINGRY FIELD HOCKEY CAMP JUNE 25 -29 (PM)

The Pingry Field Hockey Camp, focuses on basic skills through playing fun mini games/ drills and integrates these skills in small sided games. Coach Drabich is a former Division I field hockey player at Siena College. Coach Drabich is on the coaching staff of both the middle and high school Pingry field hockey teams. Coach Drabich was named the 2015 MAAC Goalkeeper of the year, and accredits her success to the constant training of basic skills at every stage of her career.

Pingry Pride is a one week basketball experience! This camp will focus on skill development while improving confidence and building character for on the court, as well as off. Activities will include speed, agility, shooting and defense. Pingry’s Varsity Coach Jason Murdock will create an environment where the players will feel assertive to make changes to their game regardless of the level of athlete.

+ PINGRY TENNIS CAMPS (VARIOUS WEEKS)

Lower Elementary (Red Ball)

Slower balls, smaller courts and shorter racquets enable young players to rally and play much sooner. Players start to play individual and team games and activities, develop good technique and use simple tactics. Rally, Serve, Play.

Program will be conducted either indoors or out depending on the weather. NO RAIN make-ups necessary.

Program developed and directed by certified USPTA/PTR & 10 & Under-certified Professional and run with assistants in 10 & Under tennis.

Upper Elementary and Middle School Programs

From beginner to advanced, this program has something for everyone, whether your needs are basic tennis skills, correct grips and technique for ground strokes, volleys, overheads and serves, or you want to prepare for your school team and need to improve tactical and technical skills and develop an increased understanding of singles and doubles play. All is included in a game-based style of teaching to make learning FUN.

High School Programs (J.V.)

Emphasis is on recognizing the "options of play" in doubles, practicing them, and then implementing into a game situation. Options of play include cross-court rally, the lob, return of serve and volley, poaching and passing the net player, to name a few. Focus is on tactics and developing an individual's plan based on player's strengths and weaknesses.

The Pingry Soccer Camp, featuring esteemed coach Miller Bugliari, offers a one-week session of skilled soccer instruction for Pingry and Non-Pingry athletes. Featured and guest coaches will make an appearances throughout the week to add a level of depth to the coaching. Players will have a choice of AM or FULL DAY. Lunch will be included.

+ PINGRY STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING YOUTH COURSE JULY 9 -JULY 20 & JULY 23 -AUGUST 3

A sport-specific strength and conditioning camp providing nutritional guidance and movement analysis for young athletes. Activities included, but not limited to strength training, speed and agility drills, medicine ball throws, foam rollers, mobility drills, and recovery modalities.

+ COLLEGE ATHLETE PREPARATORY COURSE JUNE 18-JULY 27

Everything the High School athlete needs to prepare themselves for the transition from high school to Division I, II, or III athletics. Modalities include strength training, speed and explosive power development, jump training, medicine ball throws, and sport appropriate conditioning drills. Course will be instructed by a CSCCa Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach with 7 years of Division I strength and conditioning experience.

Classroom Element: Recruiting, Nutrition, the Importance of Sleep, Guest Speakers, Collegiate athletics etiquette
