Pingry High School Tennis Preseason Camp
Camp at a Glance
TRAINING CAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS: Players will train up to 4 hours per day on court, as well as participate in classroom sessions that will highlight mental training strategies, tactical development, and video analysis review. By the end of the week, players will learn more advanced competition strategies, how to make in-match adjustments, and better understand how to train and organize their own games. This camp is run by Army West Point’s Head Tennis Coach, Randy Rowley, and International Tennis Coach Brandyn Fisher (PhD Sports Psychology) who also serves as Pingry Athletics’ Mental Performance Coach.
End of Camp Player Assessment
Each player will be provided with a full player assessment for review at the conclusion of the training camp. These assessments will include information related to each performance domain, along with recommendations for further development.
1. ACES – Evaluation and Player Development Planning
Coaches will provide every player with a full Player Development Plan, along with daily evaluations in each performance area. To this end, camp attendees will gain a free subscription to the ACES Tennis App, built for high performance tennis players. ACES provides parents, players, and coaches with unilateral access to a player’s plan, ensuring that everyone is on the same page.
2. Technique – Video Analysis
Each player will participate in a complete video analysis of technique. This is NOT a technique altering camp. This portion is meant to provide feedback on technical strengths and current deficiencies. We believe in providing the primary coach with suggestions on how to continue to develop a player’s technical parameters.
3. Tennis Tracker – Match Tracking Software
ASPire Elite coaches track sets and matches played during the camp. This includes information on a player’s tendencies, patterns, percentages, and a full breakdown of aggressive margin. Additionally, players will get to see their serve and return patterns via location charting. This information is also shared throughout the week in classroom sessions aimed at building awareness and understanding of high percentage tennis.
