Excursions in a Green World
$990 / Week
$1800 / 2 Weeks
This is our third season of ‘Excursions’ and we are offering a more robust program of outdoor adventures. We will travel off campus and will continue to offer exciting experiences on campus, including designing our own Green Campus, farming with bees and chickens, gardening, art, architecture, and science and ecology.
The Basking Ridge campus includes more than a hundred acres of woodland and farm property. Our entire day will be spent outdoors. In addition to the activities mentioned above, we will visit a neighboring farm, take an art trip to Leonard Buck Garden, visit the Raptor Trust at the Great Swamp, and more.
There will be two full day trips each week featuring the best hikes in the region. There will be an emphasis on scientific study of geological sites, including giant megaliths, an ice cave, dramatic waterfalls and much more. No hiking experience required, but some of the hikes will be moderately strenuous.
Staff includes a Pingry Biology and Farming Teacher, Pingry’s Sustainability Coordinator and Art Teacher, a World Class Architect and an experienced Overland Outdoor Leadership instructor.
