High School Writing Workshop
This two-week intensive writing course targets individual writing needs through a collaborative workshop, geared towards helping students develop their skills in analytical essay writing. Students will engage in all facets of the writing process from idea generation through revision. In order to have a common foundation for discussion, students will read a few short texts, and written responses will revolve around these texts. Throughout the process, students will conference with their peers and their instructor to get individualized feedback on their work. The instructor will address finer elements of language, style, and grammar as needed for the group of students attending the workshop. Students will leave the workshop with a “toolkit” of writing skills that they can use for their future writing endeavors.
