Intro to Engineering (featuring Alesia Paliwoda ’21)
Do you ever wonder what Engineers do? Do you want to get involved in engineering now? Did you ever want to complete an engineering project? If you answered yes, to any of these, then Intro to Engineering is for you!
In this Intro to Engineering program, students will learn about the different fields of engineering including Mechanical, Civil, Industrial and Operations, and Aerospace Engineering. Activities will include building a model tower out of materials found around the house that can withstand an earthquake simulation, trying to spot the International Space Station, speaking with an engineer, learning about robotics competitions you can compete in now, and more. Students will leave the program knowing what an Engineer does, knowing about the different types of engineering fields and what each one entails, and understanding the engineering process.
