Nicol Champions Academy – Squash
Camp at a Glance
The Nicol Champions Academy was founded 11 years ago by Peter Nicol (former World #1), Jess Winstanley (Mental Conditioning & Fitness), Melissa Winstanley and John Nimick (producers of Tournament of Champions, NetSuite Open).
All shared the same goal of providing an outstanding learning experience for young squash players in a fun, caring environment. 10 years on, NCA runs capacity summer camps at Amherst College, year-round training at Poly Prep in Brooklyn, and the Nicol Squash Club in Rhode Island featuring outstanding professional players and coaches. NCA is delighted to run a camp featuring Amanda Sobhy for the first time at the Pingry School!
This camp is designed to challenge and teach junior players. The 1-week program will involve intense work on-court, off court physical training, daily matches. Mornings are technical on-court work and off-court conditioning, while afternoons center on match play and mental strategy. It’s all designed to cover major areas of the game over a 1-week period. Each day has a different theme, and that theme is technically practiced, coached, applied in conditioned games, and then finally in match play.
