Outdoor Adventures in Science and Sustainability
Are you interested in keeping our environment healthy? Growing healthy, nutritious and sustainable food? Spending time outdoors and working with animals? If you answered yes to these questions, then this camp is for you! Participants will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty both on Pingry’s campus and on field trips throughout New Jersey. They will plant, care for and harvest crops at Pingry’s farm, care for our flock of chickens, learn about forest management on our campus and surrounding New Jersey locations, visit other local farms and more, all while learning basic principles of sustainable farming and environmental biology.
Participants will have an overnight adventure, sleeping at Pingry’s campsite and cooking their own meals prepared with local ingredients that they helped grow.
The course is led by a Pingry Biology and Farming Teacher.
