Rutgers Community Arts Drawing and Painting (High School)
Camp at a Glance
Figurative drawing and painting is designed for students who are interested in developing their abilities in representing the observable world accurately on paper and canvas. This class will cover basic ideas of composition, foreshortening, perspective, value, linear structure, animation, and character design. Students will have the opportunity to work from a live model as they explore different techniques for understanding form and space. Through paint, students will learn about different color relationships, how to mix flesh tones, textures, and different approaches for applying paint on to a flat surface.
